Part-time Music Coordinator
Saint Lawrence the Martyr Parish in Santa Clara
Saint Lawrence the Martyr, Catholic Parish and Education Center, is seeking a part time liturgical music coordinator. The liturgical music coordinator works in collaboration with the Director of Liturgy and Pastoral Staff. The goal of this liturgical ministry is to inspire and lead the community to full, conscious, active, and fruitful participation in all liturgical celebrations. The requirements are to have a working knowledge of the teachings of the Church and of the Liturgical guidelines along with musical aptitude.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serve as the main accompanist, coordinate music selections, and work with the volunteers.
- Work with the Liturgy Director to plan and prepare for all liturgical celebrations in the parish, Elementary and Middle schools, and the High School Academy.
- Schedule and conduct regular weekly practice for the different choirs.
- Recruit, train, and supervise musicians, cantors, and choir members.

Director of Faith Formation
The parishes of St. Nicholas and St. William, located in Los Altos, CA, in the Diocese of San Jose, are looking for a combined Director of Faith Formation. This is an excellent opportunity for a Christ-centered person, who is resourceful, multi-talented, and collaborative to make a significant contribution to the ministry of Catholic Faith Formation.
The Director of Faith Formation has overall responsibility for faith formation of children, teens and adults. The Director’s primary responsibility is for grades K-6th, which includes the children’s catechumenate. Supervision of the junior high and high school ministries also falls under the scope of responsibility of the Director of Faith Formation. This role will eventually expand to include supervisory responsibility for the teen and adult catechumenate.
As a member of the parish staff, the Director of Faith Formation is also responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising volunteer catechists, planning and facilitating meetings, and ordering books and materials in collaboration with parish and school staff.
Competencies and Scope of Responsibilities
Knowledge of and the ability to convey effectively the official teachings of the church regarding scripture, doctrine, morality and spirituality with demonstrated fidelity to these teachings.
Must be capable of supervising other faith formation personnel
Ability to develop, articulate and foster a comprehensive vision of faith formation for the parishes by:
Working with and communicating with the pastoral staffs and Pastoral/Parish Councils on a regular basis to develop, and direct the faith formation program
Developing and directing the sacramental programs
Planning the faith formation calendar; preparing schedules for catechetical classes in conjunction with the calendars of both parishes
Managing a visible faith formation office
Maintaining required records, including permanent records of programs and participants
Preparing an annual faith formation budget for approval and monitoring expenditures
Participating in appropriate parish, deanery and diocesan meetings, as well as, faith formation events as agreed upon and deemed necessary by the Pastors.
Ability to work collaboratively with the Pastors, parish staff, music directors, catechists and other religious education volunteers as well as parishioners
Computer literacy to enable using the various resources that are available.( Familiarity with database applications and Microsoft Office products)
Qualifications for the Position
1. Master’s Degree in Religious Education, Religious Studies, Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Education or related field is preferred; as is Diocesan Catechetical training and knowledge of and ability to convey effectively the official teaching of the Church with a demonstrated fidelity to these teachings.

St. Maria Goretti Parish has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Bilingual English/Vietnamese speaking administrative assistant to serve as a primary front office contact for Vietnamese speaking visitors and members of the parish. Applicants should be self starters and able to multi-task in a high paced multi-ethnic environment. Excellent communication skills in both English and Vietnamese are essential. Candidates must be fluent in speaking and writing both languages. Part-time Pre-K 8th Grade Music Teacher

Pre-K 8th Grade Music Teacher – Part-time (2 1/2 days a week)
St. Leo the Great School has an immediate opening for a music teacher. St. Leo the Great, located in San Jose, California, in the Diocese of San Jose, was established in 1915. The student population (currently about 290 strong) includes children from parishes throughout Santa Clara County, as well as students from non-Catholic backgrounds.
Music classes for kindergarten through 8th grade are taught on Wednesdays and Fridays, and the music teacher leads the choir on the 1st Sunday 9:30 AM Mass. Special musical events (for example, a Christmas Program and Spring Sing) are scheduled throughout the year and often take place in the evening.
Successful candidates:
• Knowledge of the Catholic mass and liturgical music required. Practicing Catholic preferred
