Podcasting Your Homily

The Diocese of San Jose invites all Diocesan parishes and pastors to publish their homilies on our web site!
What Are Podcasts?
Podcasts are audio files that can be accessed via the Internet and downloaded onto your ipod or MP3 player. They are basically an online radio broadcast. The podcasts of homilies on the DSJ website are recorded homilies that are in MP3 format.
Why Podcast Your Homilies?
Offering podcasts of homilies on the DSJ web site is a wonderful service to our community and beyond. It's a great way to evangelize and say who we are as the Church. Posting podcasts of homilies is another way the Diocese of San Jose takes advantage of new 21st century technology to spread the good news.
How to Podcast Your Homilies
The Office of Communications assists with converting audio files of homilies into MP3 format so they can be posted on the web site as a podcast. The Office of Communications will post your homilies to the web site. Text versions of the homilies can also be posted online.
Many thanks to Fr. Dave Mercer who developed great tutorials to assist in recording homilies. Please check out his materials for help:
