Scholarships now available for Children and Christian Initiation Institute- August 13-14

The dioceses of San Jose and Monterey in partnership with the North American Froum on the Catechumenate will host the Children and Christian Initiation Institute in English and Spanish at St. Catherine Parish in Morgan Hill on August 13-14 (Friday and Saturday).  The registration fee is $280.00 per person. Santa Clara University Ethics Center provides the web resource: "build.plant.grow.  a faith formation program for people of any age who build, plant and grow the word in their lives. It is especially for use in schools and parishes as children break open the word each week. The weekly lesson plans  connect to the daily lives of Christians at our best. The readings are then connected to engaging children's storys.Activities, a case study and a closing prayer complete the lesson. Cathleen Kaveny, columnist for Commonweal magazine and professor of law and of theology at Notre Dame University, will speak on "Law, Morality, and the Culture Wars" at 2PM on Sunday, January 24 at Vallombrosa Center, located at 250 Oak Grove in Menlo Park. The lecture is free and open to the public.
