About Us
The Office of Young Adult Ministry was created in October 2008. The office is an expression of the Pastoral Plan for the Diocese of San Jose, driving the effort to "attract and engage ... young adults in the life and leadership of the Church in significant ways."

John Rinaldo is the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry and has served in the Diocese of San Jose since October 2008. Previously, John served as the Consultant for Youth Ministry in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. He also served as the coordinator of youth ministry for LJC Ministry, a multi-parish youth and young adult ministry serving the Catholic parishes of the city of Santa Clara. He holds his M.A. in Pastoral Ministry from Santa Clara University. His passion is studying, writing, and training on the subject of leadership in ministry.
Steve Do is the Associate Director for Youth and Young Adult Ministry and has joined the chancery staff in July of 2010. Steve has served youth and young adults for the past thirteen years at various churches and schools including St. Martin of Tours, St. Clare, St. Joseph of Cupertino, St. John Vianney, St. Cyprian and most recently at Holy Spirit Church. Steve is passionate about growing in faith and leadership and inspiring others. He received his B.A. in Religious Studies at Santa Clara University and is happily married with two children.

Bernard Nemis joined the Diocesan staff in January, 2006, and has served as the Administrative Assistant for the Office of Young Adult Ministry since its inception. Bernard has also been active in Singles For Christ San Francisco/Peninsula for several years, and he just loves serving and sharing his time, talent, and treasure with the single professionals of the community.
