Those of you who are seeking spiritual and ministry renewal and a better understanding of global solidarity and its application in ministry to youth...
Join us and staff from Catholic Relief Services who will lead us in a retreat and resource sharing day on the Spirituality of Global Solidarity. In the context or prayer, reflection and training, they will introduce us to an excellent new peer ministry education program on Global Solidarity for Youth Ministry created collaboratively by Center for Ministry Development/ CRS. This training explores justice with the context of a comprehensive vision of youth ministry, the importance of global solidarity, and principles of good retreats and peer ministry.
An orientation will also be provided on the resources supporting Standing as One Human Family and other CRS resources. Walk away refreshed and inspired!

Presenters:
Jeanine Boucher-Colbert, Youth Programs Organizer, CRS West
Jeanine has worked with CRS West since 2005 based in Portland, Oregon. In her role, she supports diocesan and parish youth ministry offices, high school educators and campus ministries throughout the region with resources, speaker tours, training materials, interactive workshops and other tools aimed at engaging youth in global solidarity. A native of Los Angeles, Jeanine holds a Masters in Public Health from UCLA. Prior to CRS, she, her husband and two children were Maryknoll lay missioners and lived in northeast Brazil where she worked primarily as a prison chaplain supporting human rights work. Prior to that, she worked for many years in grassroots community health care and trained lay Spanish-speaking parish and community-based health workers in Portland, Oregon using popular education and community organizing. She also worked for four years with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps: NW as an Area Director leading retreats and supporting volunteers in their work in diverse communities. Jeanine also worked for eight years as a volunteer in parish religious education with children and youth with and without disabilities.
Ted Miles, Relationship Manager, Religious Education
Ted Miles is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and has worked for CRS since July 2005 as the Relationship Manager for Religious Education and coordinator of the agency's youth outreach in the US. Ted holds a BA in Psychology from Loyola College and an MA in Psychology from Bucknell University. His Jesuit influence led to a two year Jesuit Volunteer position in education and youth ministry in Belize and Guatemala, Central America. Since, Ted has obtained a professional certificate in youth ministry and has served in parish ministry, Catholic high school education and archdiocesan leadership development for the past twenty years. His work includes the development of the Archdiocese of Baltimore Justice Action Week - an urban immersion experience for youth rooted in Catholic Social Teaching, presentation at numerous regional and national conferences, and international travel with the Archdiocese of Baltimore Haiti Project and Catholic Relief Services, including a Parish Social Ministry training in Moldova, Eastern Europe. For his commitment to and work with young people, the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry recently awarded Ted a national award for leadership in youth ministry in the area of gospel values of peace and justice.
