Labor from the Pulpit

On the Sunday before Labor Day, speakers are available from the Interfaith Council of Religion, Race, and Economic & Social Justice to speak at parishes about the dignity of work and the rights of workers. This year, the Interfaith Council will emphasize the need for people of faith to stand with hotel workers in their struggle for justice. A packet of materials on Catholic social teaching on the rights of workers is available online on the Social Ministries webpage for the Diocese of San Jose. These materials were also distributed in May 2009 to pastors and Parish Social Justice Liaisons.
