Opening the Door to Forgiveness – a three-week journey

Anger and unforgiveness are some of the most common issues we deal with as Christians and most of us seem to have someone whom we have not nor cannot forgive. Yet the Lord commands us to forgive one another as he forgave us. Does the Lord really mean forgive everyone? Why do we find it so hard to forgive? Are there some sins not worthy of forgiving? Why do some people refuse to let go of their past pain and hurt?

Mark your calendars now for this three-week series at St. Catherine’s Parish in Morgan Hill on February 3, February 10 and February 17 at 7:00pm. Fr. Brendan McGuire will explore the causes of anger and productive ways to manage anger.  Then he will help us find ways to truly forgive and move back to the healthy life of freedom again.

For more on the subject of anger, you may wish to read “Design for Wholeness:  Dealing with Anger, Learning to Forgive, Building Self-Esteem,” by Soflied, Juliano, Hammet, (Notre Dame, IN:  Ave Maria Press Inc., 1990).
