World Day of the Sick Diocesan Celebration

WorldDaySick.jpg

In 1992, Pope John Paul II introduced the celebration of the World Day of the Sick on the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. This annual celebration gives people a chance to pray for and deepen their solidarity with the sick and injured among us. Each year, on a weekend close to the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes (February 11th), the Knights of Malta host World Day of the Sick at Santa Teresa Parish. It is an opportunity for parishes throughout the Diocese and caregivers to celebrate the sacrament of the Sick.

This year, the Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of San Jose, Thomas Daly will celebrate the Annual Diocesan Mass of Healing and Anointing of the Sick in the Church of Santa Teresa Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00 am. Santa Teresa Church is completely handicapped accessible.

All in attendance will receive a special prayer card and holy water from Lourdes.  Please share this information with your friends and colleagues. Contact info:please e-mail Rev. Christopher Bennett at revbennett@sbcglobal.net or call 408-236-2023.
