Resurrection then and now:
Connecting First Century and Twenty-First CenturyWhat did resurrection faith mean for the earliest believers in Jesus? What can it mean for us today? Our series will explore these questions by looking to the Sunday readings for clues and contours of possible answers. Each week’s presentation will focus on making sense of the first-century proclamations for our twenty-first century experiences. What can we claim from these biblical voices, and how can we appropriate scriptural witness for our contemporary spirituality?
Each session will conclude with a brief introduction to ways of praying with scripture drawn from our rich Catholic tradition. Such “hors d’oeuvres” of prayer forms are aimed at whetting the appetite of those who hunger for deeper relationship with God.
