Location

Description

The season’s here – let’s set the scene

To give our blood this Halloween.

Come witches, ghosts, and even goblins

By broom, by plane, or just a-hobblin’.

St. Clare Parish is where it’s at

So bring a friend or a black cat.

Your blood’s a treat – it’s yours to give

Your pint may help three more to live.

The Diocese of San Jose

Hopes you’ll help out in some fine way

Without your blood, the good Red Cross

Would really suffer a great loss.

If you can’t give, please say a prayer

Or call another – if you dare

A friend, your boss, or your dear mother

Let’s save lives and help each other.

To give blood, you must first log on

To www.helpsavealife.org/nc/

And type in code DOSJ

And soon you will be on your way.

Or call 983-0144

We’ll save a space – heck, it’s no chore

To drain your vein, and you’ll feel fine

Knowing your blood’s been a real lifeline.

In addition to our regular “one pint” donors, we have a limited number of spaces for those wishing to make a “double red cell” donation. If you meet the criteria, you may be eligible to give two units of red blood cells instead of the usual single unit. This type of donation involves collecting only red blood cells and returning the remaining blood components, along with saline, to your body. While the process takes about 20 minutes longer than a whole blood donation visit, most donors leave feeling better than after a standard blood draw, as the process leaves them better hydrated. To learn more, click here or speak with a Red Cross staff member on the day of the blood drive.

Please post a flyer also if you can! Here are the Diocese of San Jose and the Red Cross posters in Spanish and English.
