Description

Blood – The Gift of Life

Diocesan Blood Drive

During this season of Lent, as we reflect on the great sacrifice Jesus made for us when He gave His body and blood for our salvation, let us be reminded of one of the blessings we have been given:  the ability to give another person hope and the chance for new life, by donating our own blood.

We need your help.

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to save the life of another person, simply by taking a few minutes of your day to donate a pint of blood.

Are you a potential blood donor?  To give blood, you must:

  • Be at least 17 years old (there is no upper age limit for donating)
  • Weigh 110 lbs. or more
  • Be in good general health
  • Not have donated blood in the last 56 days (8 weeks)

Interested in what to expect when you give blood?  Visit the American Red Cross to find out.

To make an appointment to give blood, go the American Red Cross appointment page or visit www.givelife.org and enter the sponsor code, DOSJ, to make an appointment online. If you prefer, you can also make an appointment by phone by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.

Walk-ins are also welcome and will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
