On Saturday, March 3, 2012, the parishes of Deanery 7 & 6 will offer a day of prayer, study and reflection on the social justice teachings of the Catholic Church and the call to live our lives according to those teachings.   The goal of the day is to help the people of each parish identify the issues that most compel them to action as well as to find ways in which we can collaborate on such action in our diocese.   Bishop Thomas Daly will offer the keynote address, and participants will be able to choose two of  fifteen workshops on a variety of topics, including Eucharist & Justice, Scripture & Justice, Eucharist and the Challenge of Social Sin, Charity to Justice, The Catholic Green Initiative and Protection of our Environment, Human Trafficking, Gangs, Banks & Foreclosures, and Faithful Citizenship: Preparing for the Election. Eight of the workshops will be offered in English, six in Spanish, and one in Vietnamese.
