Catholic Communications Campaign

Thank You for Your Generosity!

We have almost reached our targetted goal and we look forward to ongoing communication of the Good News to you and the community. If you have not participated yet, please feel free to click on the donate button below.

Catholic Communications is "How the GOOD NEWS reaches the community." Deliberate and relevant communications about the diocese, the parishes, the cemeteries and the schools are vital to rejuvenation and continued growth of our church.

In the Diocese of San Jose, we strive to share inspiring and relevant content using all channels available in the 21st century.

A recent study from Pew Forum indicates:

  • Catholicism has experienced the greatest net losses as a result of affiliation changes
  • While nearly one-in-three Americans (31%) were raised in the Catholic faith, today fewer than one-in-four (24%) describe themselves as Catholic
  • More than one-quarter of American adults (28%) have left the faith in which they were raised in favor of another religion or no religion at all
  • 71% of those surveyed indicated that they just gradually drifted away over time

But it is not too late. Studies show that strong communications with an invitation to "Come Home" is all they need to re-ignite their faith.

The Diocesan Office of Communications help spread the Good News and invite Catholics to "Come Home" by providing the following services:

  • The Valley Catholic newspaper - print and online
  • Web site and email communications
  • Social Media - Facebook and Twitter
  • Multimedia - homily podcast, video production, photography
  • Consultation and event planning - promotion, design assistance, timeline, web site, registration, live streaming broadcast
  • Design layout, graphic design and print production - flyers, brochures, banners, web forms

The Catholic Communication Campaign Collection will be taken the weekend of June 11-12, 2011. Your generous donation will support Diocesan Communications to provide important Catholic content that brings the Gospel message to life.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) established the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC) collection in 1979 to respond to the national and local communications needs of the Church. Click here for more information about USCCB's Catholic Communications Campaign.
