Love Beyond Measure

Natural Family Planning

Supporting God’s gifts of love and life in marriage

Natural Family Planning

Modern Methods of Natural Family Planning (NFP) are versatile and usable at any stage of a woman’s reproductive life; (regular, irregular cycles, breast feeding etc.) to either achieve or avoid pregnancy.  It is based upon the couple’s own knowledge of their naturally occurring cyclic phases of fertility and infertility.  Natural Family Planning is not contraception, it offers high reliability, morally acceptable and is a true means of shared family planning in which couples value, respect and understand their combined fertility.

Use-Effectiveness Statistics

As a system of family planning, the Creighton Model can be used to both achieve and avoid pregnancy. In the June 1998 issue of the Journal of Reproductive Medicinea large use-effectiveness study of the model revealed that this system has a method effectiveness (perfect use) of 99.5% and a use effectiveness (typical use) of 96.8% when used to avoid pregnancy.

Alternatively, when model is used to achieve pregnancy in couples of normal fertility, the effectiveness is 76% in the first cycle of use and 98% by the sixth cycle.

An introductory session (general presentation in small-group or individual format) that explains scientific foundations, methodology, applications to various reproductive categories, and how to track your cycles with the Creighton Model. Additional Personalize follow-up instruction can continue your training with a series of individualized appointments including complete chart review.
