Ending the Silence–Teen and Young Adult Mental Health

Ending the Silence is an interactive presentation that includes a young adult living with a mental illness who shares their journey of recovery. Teens will have an opportunity to ask questions and gain understanding of an ofter misunderstood topic.
Facts:
-1 in 5 teens, ages 13-18 experience a mental health condition in a given year. 80% of them are not receiving treatment.
-Suicide is the second leading cause of death for 15-24 year olds;
-About 50% of this with mental health conditions began experiencing symptons by age 14
-The average delay between onset of symptoms and receiving treatment is 8-10 years;
-Treatment works. With early identification and prevention hope prevails.
-The Faith Community–Catholic Parish–offers a place for support, sacraments, and prayer where every person is welcomed and valued!
