F/T COORDINATOR OF CATECHETICAL MINISTRY:
St. Justin, a thriving parish community, is seeking a qualified person to be responsible for designing dynamic and engaging catechetical programs that support lifelong learning.

The Coordinator works collaboratively with staff, catechetical personnel, volunteers to develop, strengthen, and promote authentic and effective faith formation. Specifically, the Coordinator provides leadership, support, consultation and resources to those engaged in catechesis.

The Coordinator should have a passion for re-imagining where, how, and when faith formation takes place, an understanding of culture and cultures and an ability to work collaboratively to build teams are essential. Salary determined according to Diocesan guidelines

Education and Experience

• M.A. degree in Catechesis, Religious Studies, Theology, Pastoral Ministry or equivalent, Master Catechist certification.
• At least 5 years of experience as Coordinator of Faith Formation.
• Strong experience on the diocesan or parish level in developing and implementing catechesis, family ministry, and the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and Children.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of the systems, structures, and teachings of the Catholic Church and the Church’s catechetical documents.
• Knowledge of contemporary research, trends, resources, methodology, programming, and best practices in catechetical ministry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in operating various computer programs such as Word, Excel, ParishSOFT, email, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to make decisions, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects/priorities effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to effectively present information in one‐on‐one, small, or large group situations.
• Ability to set, execute, and evaluate goals/objectives/outcomes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with parish and school personnel, and other diocesan staff.
• Extroverted and pro-active individual who portrays enthusiasm, a self-starter and able to work independently.

Some Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with parish, school and diocesan staff in promoting authentic, effective, and life‐long catechesis.
• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers on the development and implementation of policies, programs, and best practices regarding catechetical ministry.
• Maintain current database of catechists and other personnel engaged in catechesis.
• Orientation of new families interested in the program.
• Enlisting and training of new catechists.
• Making sure all catechists fulfill Diocesan requirements (finger printing, safe environment attendance, etc.)
