Gaudete Concert and Our Lady of Peace Church Open House

Everyone is invited to Our Lady of Peace Church & Shrine Open House and “Gaudete” Concert on Friday, December 13, 2013. The celebration starts at 4:00 pm in the Rectory Office followed by a FREE concert at 7:30 pm in the church. The Cherubim & St. Cecilia Choirs, with Soloists and Guest Musicians will be conducted by Music Director, Bernadette Arnold.
A program of medieval and renaissance carols will be offered, along with excerpts from Mozart’s Missa Brevis (KV 259) “Organ Solo” & Handel’s Messiah, highlighted by Alessandro Scarlatti’s Christmas Cantata, performed on period instruments.
The presentation includes a congregational sing-a-long from the famous choruses of Handel’s Messiah along with traditional Christmas carols.
If you would like to sing-a-long, you may bring your own music score of Handel’s Messiah or copies will be available at the door for a small donation.
