Dear Catholic School Families,
This week, the State of California announced that Santa Clara County has remained in Tier 2 (Red) for 14 days. As a result of meeting this metric, the Santa Clara County Public Health Department is now allowing TK-12 schools in our County to open for in-person instruction with strict adherence to State and County guidelines.
While a waiver is no longer needed, our participation in that process has ensured full vetting of each school’s Reopening Plan to support the health and safety of our students and teachers. Building on this partnership, we will remain in close consultation with our public health officials as we begin to welcome students back to campus.
In the coming days, the schools will be finalizing their preparations for in-person instruction – clarifying safety procedures, ensuring campus readiness, and solidifying learning plans. To be responsive to the unique needs of each community, each school will begin in-person instruction on its own timeline. In addition, all schools will continue to offer distance learning for those who choose it.
Throughout this pandemic, I have been humbled by the extraordinary efforts of our pastors, principals, teachers, staff, and families. Together, you are a true witness to the heart of Catholic education. This continued partnership will be vital as we take this next step together. Supporting the health and safety of our entire community will take careful attention by all to County protocols both during and beyond the school day. Thank you for remaining united in support of one another.
May God’s loving embrace continue to bless you and our school communities.
Yours in Christ,
Jennifer Beltramo
Superintendent of Catholic Schools
