For five days, in the beautiful setting of South Lake Tahoe, the teens from incoming 9th graders to graduated 12th graders will experience and encounter the love of God by means of Catholic catechesis, sacramental formation, social justice awareness, prayer experiences accompaniment and significant opportunities to fellowship and create lasting friendships. Through the power of the Holy Spirit during the retreat, we hope young people will take ownership of their faith and grow deeper in relationship with God. 

Diocesan Youth Retreat (DYR)

30th Anniversary

June 8–12, 2026

The Diocesan Youth Retreat is an opportunity for high school youth from across the Diocese of San José to gather for prayer, community, and a deeper encounter with Christ. We are excited to celebrate the 30th anniversary of DYR and look forward to welcoming young people from across the diocese.

Step 1: Pre-Registration

All youth who wish to attend the retreat must first complete the pre-registration form.

Please note: Pre-Registration does not guarantee a spot at DYR 2026.

Pre-Registration Opens:
Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 10:00 AM

There is no payment required during pre-registration.

Step 2: Official Retreat Registration 

Participation in the retreat is coordinated through each parish.

  • Each parish is guaranteed 8 participant spots.
  • The first eight youth from each parish to complete the pre-registration will receive a link to complete the official retreat registration.
  • Youth who complete pre-registration after the first eight from their parish will automatically be placed on a waitlist for their parish.

Please note: The last day parish allotted spots are available will be Sunday, April 12, 2026

After pre-registration closes, additional youth may be invited from the waitlist if space becomes available.

Waitlist closes: Sunday, April 26, 2026 or earlier pending demand.

Step 3: Official Registration & Payment

Youth who receive the official registration link will be asked to complete their registration by April 12, 2026 and submit payment. If registration is not complete by April 12, the spot will be given to the next parish youth.   

  • $200 non-refundable deposit required
  • Registration is not secured until payment is made

Payment Deadlines

  • Initial payment non-refundable deposit due within 7 days of completing official registration
  • Final payment due by Sunday, May 3, 2026

Payment plans will be available during the official registration process.

Cancellation Policy

  • The $200 deposit is non-refundable
  • 50% refund available before April 26, 2026
  • No refunds after April 26, 2026
