Achieving the Dream: Cristo Rey Students are Shattering Expectations in School and at Work.

Two years ago, Fr. Peter Pabst shared with us his dream for a Cristo Rey school in San Jose. Now, the school embarks on its second year, providing a rigorous college prep education and an innovative work study program where students help pay for their tuition by working in local businesses. Joining Fr. Peter is the school’s new COO and Director of the Work Study program, Matt Bell.
Fr. Peter and Matt are no strangers to serving the socio-economically disadvantaged community of downtown and east side San Jose. Prior to serving as president of Cristo Rey, Father Peter founded and led Sacred Heart Nativity Schools. During the first decade of the school, Matt served on the school’s Board of Directors and chaired the development committee.
