Ministry to the Bereaved: Create & Sustain your Parish Ministry

This in-depth training and enrichment series is an opportunity for staff and volunteers to focus on bereavement support in the parish setting. Your knowledge, skills and confidence will be enhanced by exploring topics on the grief process, communication and facilitation skills and forming your parish plan. Activities, reflection and prayer will be included each week. Curriculum resources will be discussed.

Suzanne Young is an educator, spiritual director and former outreach coordinator for Catholic Cemeteries for the San Jose Diocese. She has created and facilitated over 40 bereavement support sessions for parishes and cemetery staff and is delighted to be teaching this six week course on creating and sustaining a ministry in Parish Bereavement Support.
