Poverty Simulation
January 19, 2014 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
As we begin this new year, I’d like to share with you a wonderful opportunity for prayer, reflection and solidarity with the needy of our valley: the Poverty Simulation. I encourage you and your family to attend this Poverty Simulation. Children in 6th grade and older are welcome.
The Poverty Simulation is a unique tool to educate our community by role-playing the day-to-day realities of people struggling with poverty. It’s an opportunity for each of us to experience a taste of what the people we serve experience. During the simulation, each participant will be a member of a low-income community, struggling to provide food, shelter and other basic necessities while navigating through community resources.
If you attend the Poverty Simulation, you can consider having your own parish experience it.
Please register here: www.eventbrite.com/e/poverty-simulation-tickets-9015412341. Please register soon so we have a count of the number of people coming so that we can prepare.
Please contact Deacon Don Sifferman at dsifferman@dsj.org or 408-257-2262 if you have any questions.
