Youth and Young Adult Ministry Coordinator, Saint Lucy Parish – Campbell CA

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Serves the needs of the youth and young adult families of St Lucy parish and forms them into radical disciples through relationships, prayer experiences, service, ministries and programs.

GENERAL DUTIES:

This position is for all of the youth and young adult ministry programs of the parish. General duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Implementation of programs, ministries and other experiences that promote the eight components of the U.S. Bishops document “Renewing the Vision”.
  2. Coordination of the Middle School Ministry, High School Ministry, Confirmation, and Young Adult Ministry programs at the parish.
  3. Providing opportunities through workshops, retreats, and other spiritual formation and evangelization of youth and young adults.
  4. Facilitating the training and formation of leaders through recruiting, training, evaluating, and encouraging vocations.
  5. Facilitating the planning of, implementing, and evaluating long and short range ministry goals.
  6. Promoting active youth worship including participative and inclusive liturgy and prayer opportunities.
  7. Coordination with other parishes in the best practices for youth ministry.

 RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  1. Coordination the Middle School Ministry-
  2. Coordination the High School Youth Ministry- Life Teen.
  3. Coordination the High School Confirmation Program.
  4. Implementation and coordination of the Young Adult Ministries.
  5. Serves as the staff liaison between the Young Adult Hispanic Group (Despertar Juvenil)
  6. Provides Relational Ministry to the families in our parish youth ministries and programs.
  7. Provides Relational Outreach Ministry to youth and young adults in and out of the parish boundaries.

Administration:

  • Attends all staff meetings, faith formation team meetings, and Diocesan meetings for Youth Ministry Coordinators.
  • Budget planning.
  • Calendar planning.
  • Collaboration with other parishes & their youth ministries.

 Miscellaneous:

  • Works in collaboration with the youth of our St. Lucy School.
  • Assist with the Quinceañeras Retreat and incorporate ways to evangelize the teens and their families.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Practicing Roman Catholic who is in good standing with the Catholic Church.
  • Successful completion of Diocesan Safe Environment process and clearance of fingerprinting.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Public speaking experience.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Education:

  • S. Degree in related field of study and preferred Master’s degree in Theology, Catechesis, and/or Pastoral Ministry.

Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a Youth Ministry setting.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.

Long Term Substitute Teacher, Grade 1 Most Holy Trinity – August 2023

Under the direct supervision of the principal, a long-term Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing academic instruction an appropriately safe, caring and enriching environment for children in TK/K through 8th grade while the primary teacher is off site. The Substitute Teacher ensures the program is supportive of the school’s philosophy, organization, and curriculum, executing the lessons as prepared by the primary teacher’s Lesson Plans assisting with the needs of students, and supports learning by creating an atmosphere where students are active and engaged.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING (and other duties as assigned):

  • Facilitating the teacher’s lesson plans to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
  • Providing in-class and at-home assignments based on the teacher’s lesson plan.

  • Overseeing normal classroom rhythms.
  • Supervising in all areas of the school including in class, at lunch, during recess, and in corridors.

  • Collecting homework and organizing the assignments for teacher’s return.

  • Giving details to the teacher about what happened in class.

  •  Attending Parent-Teacher Conferences.
  •  Submitting official grades after the grading period.
  • Making sure that your classroom and work area are clean and tidy.
  • Preparing a report for the teacher for when s/he returns.
