Volunteer Training for Detention Ministry

The next training session for Detention Ministry in the Santa Clara County Correctional Facilities will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Chancery Office: 1150 North First Street, San Jose, CA 95112. This training will be primarily for brand new volunteers. You are needed to direct prayer services and bible studies and possibly to accompany individual inmates through the RCIA process. Spiritual Care Volunteer Orientation and Training

If you have a heart for compassionate listening and the ability to spend two hours per week with patients in need of spiritual care while in the hospital, Valley Medical Center could use your help.
Volunteers must submit an application and reference, complete hospital orientation class and health clearance. After that individualized training is provided by qualified experienced chaplains.
The next hospital orientation at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center is April 7th from 10:00 am to noon in the basement conference room in Valley Specialty Center. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please call 408.885.6996 and leave your email address so we can send you an application.

Spiritual Care Volunteer Training

If you have a heart for compassionate listening and the ability to give 2 hrs per week to patients in need of spiritual care while in the hospital, Valley Medical Center could use your help. We are looking for mature men and women in good standing in their own faith tradition and able to provide support to people from a variety of backgrounds. Volunteers receive five free classes in empathic listening before beginning practice and are supervised by qualified experienced chaplains. The next training begins January 4 and ends on Feb 1 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the hospital. Please call 408.885.6996 to sign up.
