Strengthening Families Together: Marriage and Family Leaders Virtual Event.

I am excited to invite all marriage and family ministry leaders to our upcoming virtual event, “Strengthening Families Together,” scheduled for December 17th at 6:30 PM for English and 7:30PM for Spanish.

This special session is designed for existing leaders within our diocese, including those involved in marriage preparation and movements such as Couples for Christ, Marriage Encounter, and Christian Family Movement, as well as anyone interested in becoming more involved in strengthening this important ministry within our Diocese.

 Purpose and Highlights:

  • Pastoral Plan Update: Receive the latest updates on our Pastoral Plan Implementation with a focus on Family Ministry.
  • Vision Sharing: Learn about our future initiatives and strategies in support of family life throughout the diocese.
  • Community Engagement Initiative:  We will introduce and seek your involvement in a new initiative, “Four Holy Hours for your Marriage.” This project aims to motivate married couples within our parishes to grow in love and mutual appreciation through prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. This initiative also includes the goal of identifying potential leaders for family ministry. 

This gathering is not only a chance to be informed but also an opportunity to contribute and help shape the direction and success of our outreach to families.

Liturgical Music Workshop

Liturgical Music Workshop, Saturday, January 11, 2025, 9:00-12:00 and Wednesday, January 15, 2025, 6:30-8:00, Saint Catherine of Alexandria Parish. St. Catherine Parish in collaboration with St. Mary Parish-Gilroy will host this 2-day event. Sister Sharon McMillan, SND, will facilitate the workshop in the context of the Eucharistic Celebration. The topics for the workshop discussions will include serving as music ministers, musical journey through the Mass, and selecting liturgical music

This workshop is open to those currently involved in music ministry and those who are interested in joining music ministry in parishes throughout the Diocese of San Jose. There will be no cost to participants for this workshop. We only ask that each participant register using the QR code on the flyer so we know who to expect

YCP Advent Retreat

December 14, 10am, St. Nicholas Church (Los Altos), YCP Silicon Valley. Join YCP Silicon Valley on Saturday December 14 for our Advent Retreat on the topic of Hope borrowing from Pope Benedict’s “Spe Salvi.” The retreat will begin at 10am at St. Nicholas Church in Los Altos and lunch is included. The schedule will include talks, adoration, confession, and time for prayer and reflection. The retreat will culminate in mass with the YCP community from 2-3pm.
